PORTLAND, Ore. — Devon Haskins is a reporter at KGW in Portland, Oregon, specializing in general assignment reporting. He began his career in 2002 at KAYU-TV in Spokane, WA. He joined KGW in May 2011 as a photojournalist. Before that he worked for KGW's sister station, KREM-TV, in Spokane, Wash. and the NBC affiliate in Tucson, Ariz.

It was there that he met his beautiful wife Cara. They keep busy these days with their three kids.

A native of the Pacific Northwest, Devon is thrilled to be back on this side of the mountains. He grew up in a small town north of Seattle, where his love of Seattle sports grew.

Devon has worked in Spokane, Tucson and Portland in his two decades plus of shooting news video. He has covered stories ranging from wildfires and record snowfalls in Spokane, to the minuteman movement on the US/Mexican border, to the Ducks national championship game in Arlington, Texas.

He also spent three weeks in Brazil covering the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro!

Now you'll find Devon in front of the camera, reporting for KGW News at Sunrise Monday through Friday. He's still getting used to the early alarm and lives on coffee!

Devon recently debuted a new series of stories for KGW called "What's in a Name". The stories focus on the etymology of how various places get their names and the unique stories behind them.

Did you know Portland's name was decided by a coin flip?

You can watch the complete playlist on KGW's website or YouTube channel.

When not at work, Devon can be seen rooting for the Seattle Seahawks and his adopted Portland Trail Blazers...until the Sonics come back! He loves football, golf, movies and spending all his free time with his family.
